At Muddy Boots, we support you and your child as they begin the next big step in their educational journey – starting school. Our team of qualified Educators and Early Years Teachers (EYTs) help your child get ‘school ready’ every day they’re at nursery.
We believe children learn best when they’re outdoors, experiencing the wonders of nature every day. Getting to learn and play with such freedom is one of the most amazing parts of their nursery journey at Muddy Boots! There are so many benefits to outdoor learning; our holistic approach and outdoor-focused methodology allows education and school preparation to be catered to each child, their development and their interests. We believe, and research has shown, that this is the best way to capture their imagination and engage children in purposeful learning.
Whilst we’d love for every child to stay at Muddy Boots until they start school, we know that every child is individual and what works for one may not work for another. As a nursery, we make sure you and your family have all the resources needed to make informed decisions about your child’s educational journey.
Starting Reception is a free, online, government resource, backed by childcare providers and people who work with/for children. Designed to support parents and carers in preparing their child for school, it offers simple activities, helpful advice and clear guidance on the skills and routines that help children feel confident and ready for their first day.
Starting Reception also provides resources and guides on Potty Training, Children’s Toothbrushing, etc. to help children develop those key skills and encourage independence, ready for starting big school.
