Muddy Boots Goes Solar! Supported by West Yorkshire Combined Authority

Muddy Boots Nurseries are proud to announce the installation of solar panels across our Drighlington, Gildersome and Morley settings! This huge milestone completes our plan to install solar panels at all of our nursery sites, and marks an exciting step forward in our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

The project was made possible through a grant from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, awarded via their Business Sustainability Support Grant Funding Scheme. The funding supports organisations committed to inclusive growth and sustainability, enabling Muddy Boots Nurseries to claim 25% of the total installation costs.

We are delighted to share that all Muddy Boots Nurseries are now partially powered by solar energy. As a nature-led early years provider, we continually seek meaningful ways to reduce our carbon footprint. The installation of solar panels not only supports more sustainable operations, but also provides valuable learning opportunities for the children in our care, introducing them to renewable energy and helping them understand how caring for the planet can create a greener future for generations to come.

Matthew Elliott from Watt Solar Solution, who carried out the installation, said:

“We are thrilled to have been selected as the installers for this project. It’s fantastic to support an organisation whose nature-led values align so closely with our own, and we’re delighted to have played a part in helping Muddy Boots Nurseries become more sustainable.”

Muddy Boots Nurseries would like to thank the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Watt Solar Solution for their support in helping us take this important step towards a more sustainable future.

Did you know? The sun delivers more energy to Earth in one hour than the world uses in a year and Muddy Boots is tapping into it.
